What kind of corruption have you faced in your life? Have you ever given bribes?
I'll tell my experience first. To get a driver license, one must finish a driver school. It costed something about $900 when I got my driver license. After you finish the school, you need to pass the test, and the test is being held by the road police. Your school instructor accompanies you there, and you drive the same car you used to drive in the school. The exam consists of three parts: theory, practice, and "city". "City" means you drive a car on actual roads with an inspector from the road police as a passenger. The inspector gives you directions and decides whether you passed or not. This is the part many people fail, and so did I multiple times. For each try besides the first one I gave my school instructor $15 for using the car.
There were many people who take the test besides me, and everybody somehow knew how much money one needs to give to pass the test effortlessly. You can't give money to the policeman directly, you need to give money to your instructor. It was $250 at that time. Then the next time you sit in the car, it will be all the same, the inspector gives you directions, and you follow them, but this time he'll help you to drive the car with little gestures or even with pressing his set of pedals (these cars have two sets of pedals) - without saying a word because everything is being filmed with a dashboard cam.
So, that was the time I gave a bribe.
