I’ve met several people irl from that country, and it seems pretty chill and welcoming. Recently, they’ve waived visa requirements for us (Colombia). From what I’ve researched, the cost of living is similar to ours and as long as I avoid talking about the gov, be respectful and learn basic Russian, a three-month trip sounds like it could be nice. btw I WFH and have decent savings, so money shouldn’t be an issue—especially if I can find someone willing to rent me an apartment. Any tips?

With people from gov like border guys or police, regulars don't care at all.
English is not widespread especially in smaller cities, but with basic voice translate I don't think you would be limited in anything

I never interacted with someone from Belarus, but they seemed chill. I think Viktor Lukashenko looks handsome and papa Lukashenko is hilarious. There briefly was someone from Belarus in a groupchat I was in and I didn't recognize which made me feel like a fool when my Russian friends were like "Oh he was from belarus!"

Поинтересовался просто. Не планирую переезжать. Свинину не ем.
